Mokume Gane is an extremely labour intensive metalsmithing technique out of Japan, one of many new techniques I learned during my college experience (and loved)! Several layers of sheet metal of different types are fused together, patterned, forged, flattened, cut, and then used to create the desired finished piece. Mokume Gane is slow art...the process of creating a small bar takes several days. This particular ring is made up of 15 layers of sterling silver, copper, and shibuichi - all hand forged by yours truly. The Mokume Gane colours will become richer and deeper with wear.

Because of the time taken and high skill level required for the creation of authentic Mokume Gane, this type of jewellery is hard to find. Make a statement.

This is a stunning statement ring for a man or a woman, and a unique alternative to a plain gold or silver band.

This is a wide band ring, which fits more snugly than a regular band. If you normally wear a size 6 ring, you will need to size up to a 6.5 or 7 for the same fit. This ring can be sized down but not up.
